Brilliant but somewhat absent minded, Professor Reinhardt is also one of the most respected Babbage Engineers in Bayern. She has recently gained fame for her invention of the Automated Punched Card Shuffler, a device which accepts telegraphic signals and converts them into instructions for turning a wheel loaded with punched cards and quickly slotting them into a Babbage Engine. This allows a Babbage Engine to receive a full “program” of instructions quickly and without the manual labor needed to re-order the cards. He invention proved crucial to the construction of the Duchess Elisabeth, the world’s first Babbage Engine-controlled locomotive.
